Mable Day Link, 68, of High Street in Paris, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2005. She was born in Knott County, a daughter of Cynthia Ann Slone and the late David Floyd Day, Sr. She was a retired seamstress for Kentucky Textiles, Inc. She was also an avid UK Fan. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, flowers, and collecting wind chimes. She is survived by: her husband Jerry Link, Paris; a son James M. Buddy McIntyre, Jr., Paris; a daughter Linda L. Reynolds, Paris; two brothers David Floyd & Dovie) Day of Paris and Tommy J. (& Lynn) Day,f Nicholasville; four sisters Bobbie Lou Guy of Paris, Rose Ellen (& Bobby) Hampton of Austin, Texas, Mary Jane Combs of Winchester, and Brenda C. (& Jeffrey) Mitchell, Cynthiana; a sister-in-law Connie Day, Carlisle; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her father David Floyd Day, Sr.; and a brother Charles Edwin Day. Pallbearers were Dwayne & David Martin, Mike & Marty Day, Glenn Combs and Billy Buckler. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass or the American Cancer Society. ANNA LEE SMITH Anna Lee Smith, 92, of Paris, widow of William W. Barney Smith, died Sunday, January 2, 2005, at Bourbon Community Hospital. She was born in Bourbon County to the late John W. & Lillie Suladie Leggett. She was a retired employee of Nicholas County Hospital, a member of Herrington United Methodist Church and a member of the Bourbon County Homemakers. She also was a Kentucky Colonel. Survivors are: two sons Ronald C. Smith of Salt Springs, Florida, and Clyde Smith, Champaign, Illinois; six grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. Services will be conducted Sunday, January 16, at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Dr. Henry Hanna. Burial will be in Carlisle Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Billy & Ken Leggett, Dennie Ritchie and Bill, Ronald Warren & Paul Smith. Contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
